The Best Deviled Eggs for Your Next Backyard Barbecue

Memorial Day is coming up soon and summer is just around the corner. This is the time of year that’s great for backyard barbeques, family picnics and community potlucks. If you are looking for a dish to bring that is sure to be a crowd favorite, it’s hard to go wrong with homemade deviled eggs. They are relatively easy to make. And, they are extra delicious and nutritious when made with humanely raised Chino Valley Ranchers eggs.

Here are a few simple deviled egg filling recipes to try once you hard-boil your Chino Valley Ranchers eggs (each recipe is based on 12 large eggs):

Million Dollar Deviled Eggs:
Once you’ve separated the yolks, you will mix them with the following ingredients:
 • 1/4 cup mayo
 • 1 tbsp softened butter
 • 2 tsp yellow mustard
 • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
 • 1 tsp sugar
 • 2 tsp sweet gherkin pickle juice
 • 1/8 tsp salt
 • 1/8 tsp pepper
 • A dash of Tabasco sauce (optional)

For a little extra flair and flavor, we recommend sprinkling some paprika on top of your deviled eggs. You can also consider some bacon crumbles if you really want to pack a flavor punch with a bit of crunch.

Classic Deviled Eggs:
For those who want a simple deviled egg recipe, it’s hard to mess with the classic approach. You don’t need any measuring cups or spoons for these classic deviled eggs. Keep mixing in the basic ingredients until you love the taste. Here’s what you will need:
 • Mayonnaise
 • Relish
 • Mustard (yellow or Dijon)

You can substitute Greek yogurt for the mayo, if you like. Then, add a little salt and pepper to taste. A little practice and you’ll find the right combo that you and your guests will love. If you want to jazz up your deviled eggs a bit more, you can additional spices like hot sauce or cayenne pepper, or fresh-chopped chives and herbs. Avocado is another delicious complement to classic deviled eggs!

Spicy Deviled Eggs:
Perhaps you want to live a little on the wild side and try a spicier version of deviled eggs. Here’s a recipe for you spice lovers:
 • 1 1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
 • 1 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise
 • 1/2 tsp Worchestershire sauce
 • 1/2 tsp hot sauce (or more for extra spiciness)
 • A pinch of salt and pepper

Dust your spicy deviled eggs with paprika or cayenne pepper. Another great touch is to add a sliced olive on top.
