With just a few supplies, a little creativity, and some colorful paint, you can create a custom egg holder that’s perfect for your kitchen counter, brunch table, or Easter display. Bonus: it makes a sweet gift, too!

What You’ll Need:

  • White oven-bake clay

  • A rolling pin

  • Scissors

  • A Chino Valley Ranchers egg carton

  • White acrylic paint

  • Colorful acrylic paint (for flowers)

  • Mod Podge (or any paint sealer)

  • Paintbrushes

  • Oven (for baking the clay)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Roll Out the Clay
Use a rolling pin to flatten your white oven-bake clay into a sheet about ¼ inch thick. This will become the base for your egg holder mold.

2. Create the Mold
Cut off the top of your egg carton. Gently press the flattened clay sheet into the bottom half of the carton to form the mold shape.

3. Trim the Edges
Using scissors or a clay tool, cut away any excess clay along the edges for a clean, finished look.

4. Bake the Clay
Carefully remove the molded clay from the carton and bake it according to the instructions on your clay packaging. Make sure it’s fully cured.

5. Let It Cool
Once baked, allow the clay to cool completely before moving on to the painting steps.

Paint a base coat of white acrylic paint over the entire egg holder. Let it dry thoroughly.
